Our Voices Carry - Spring Concert

Friday, April 26 at 7:30pm
Sunday, April 28 at 3pm

Calvary Episcopal Church
821 S 4th St, Louisville, KY 40203

Celebrate three decades of harmony, resilience, and progress with "Our VOICES Carry" – a spectacular evening marking the chorus's 30th anniversary. Our Spring Concert celebrates how the power of our voices has carried us through thirty eventful years. Join us as we trace our steps back to where it all began – to our "home" – a place where voices have been the beacon guiding us through each era.

In 1994, joining VOICES as an LGBTQ member was an act of courage, a voice rising in the face of adversity. Our concert takes you back to these roots, showcasing the bravery and solidarity that laid our foundation. As we traverse through time, witness how these voices grew in strength and pride, creating a community that resounds with the spirit of equality and acceptance.

Our story doesn't end there. With acceptance came joy – a joy in being true to ourselves, in the music we shared, and the community we built. "Our VOICES Carry" captures this spirit, presenting a repertoire that resonates with our collective experience, our triumphs, and our ongoing challenges. But as we approach this significant milestone, we acknowledge that our work is far from over. Vigilance now remains at the heart of our mission.

Under the inspiring direction of Kimcherie Lloyd, this incredible celebration includes narrations that weave the stories of our home in the Louisville community with VOICES past and present — and maybe a few surprises along the way.

Come, be a part of an unforgettable evening. Experience the power of voices that have created a home, fostered a community, and sparked a movement. "Our VOICES Carry" is a celebration of how far we've come and a reminder of the path that still lies ahead.

Are you coming to see us sing on Sunday, April 28th?  Be aware that it is the same day as the annual Pegasus Parade, so build in a little extra travel time to the Calvary Episcopal Church on Fourth Street between York and Breckenridge, just a block south of the Downtown Library.  Broadway will be closed between Campbell and 9th.
